Cycling on Icy Trails

There are three things to do before bicycling on icy trails. Number one; do not ride the cycle if the conditions are not secure. Number two the good way to bicycling on ice is with dotted tires that are in the best condition and the third and most significant, always wear the right headgear.
Recommendations on Cycling
Always look ahead to non icy areas. If you are looking forward you can plan the line to get through the icy area. When you ride on icy areas you have to point the bike in the focus of the dry areas. You don’t want to turn the bike while you are on the ice. Once you get to a dry area this is the time to alter the line.
Turning or altering direction is very hard to do while you are on ice without breaking up. If you must turn, try to turn as small as possible. Keep in mind, if you can’t remain on the trail because of ice its ok, the snow on the side of the trails is normally more dependable than the ice on the trail.
Don’t use the brakes on ice. This will always make the tires slip. If you absolutely have to use the brakes, use the back end brake. Never utilize the front brake while bicycling on the ice.
Make sure you wear suitable clothing too. Not just for the cold but also in case you fall. Icy trails are slippery and the chance of falling is higher than when on a dry trail!
Remaining Motivated Is The Key To Proper Cycling Training

One of the key factors that helps ensure proper cycling training is being motivated long enough to sustain the effort over a period of time. All too often people take up cycling training and then lose interest midway through their training program and the reason for this is that they lack proper motivation to continue with their training long enough for benefits to accrue. You can think up many different reasons why you lack sufficient motivation to keep up with your cycling training and very commonly being hard pressed to find sufficient time to train is one reason that has a lot to do with this tendency to lack sufficient motivation.
How To Remain On Track
Sometimes, you might also find that for no apparent reason you lack motivation to do your cycling training though with a little bit of thought you can ensure that you get back your motivation. The first thing you need to take into account is the fact that after training very strenuously you might find that your training routine has become too rigid – leading to training beyond your capacity. This is when taking short periods of rest can help you regain your motivation.
Another way of regaining your motivation to continue your cycling training is to ensure that you train for a period of time that is neither too long nor too short. Training for twenty hours in the week can put a huge mental strain on you leading to becoming less motivated to continue with cycling training. It is therefore a good idea to cut down your training time to a level that keeps you enthused about continuing.
A third way to ensure keeping high motivation levels is to practice doing your cycling training with others that are also interested in the same kind of training program. In addition, it pays to set you realistic goals which you can then strive to achieve and in this simple way ensure remaining motivated so as to achieve your goals. Varying your cycling training program can help improve motivation levels and even using a turbo trainer has been known to help you remain focused and motivated.
